OM SYSTEM 50-200mm f/2.8 PRO and 50-250mm f/4 Lenses TBA in Q4 of 2023

OM Digital is planning to announce the two telephoto zoom lenses on its lens roadmap in late 2023.  These lenses would be the OM SYSTEM M.Zuiko Digital ED 50-200mm f/2.8 PRO Lens and OM SYSTEM M.Zuiko Digital ED 50-250mm f/4 Lens.

Of course we expect these telephoto zoom lenses will take advantage of the Micro Four Thirds system, which doubles its focal length to its 35mm equivalent. There are already two “40-150mm” zoom lenses in the M.Zuiko lineup, and this time around, the lenses are rumored to have lots of overlapping focal lengths. Probably we will see if these will be a renewal of the current F2.8 / F4 zoom or an additional lineup.

There seems to be a fair amount of demand for affordable lenses as well as expensive PRO lenses, so the look of the 50-250mm F4 seems to be welcome. If the telephoto end reaches 250mm (500mm equivalent), it will be able to coexist seamlessly with the existing 40-150mm F4 PRO and 40-150mm F4-5.6 in the 300mm equivalent class.

There is no information (rumor) so far, but we would like to wait for the successor of the “OM-D E-M1X” and the action of the “PEN” series soon.

Stay tuned for more information.
